Let me introduce myself! I’m Alisa Stanley (pronounced like the end of Mona Lisa). In 2022, I graduated from my undergrad in Film and Media Production from Humber Polytechnic, I’m currently studying Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Seneca Polytechnic. In June of 2025, I began working with an organization called The Pros and Cons Art Program, which inspired me to create this blog.
I worked as an event planner after graduating from my undergrad, focusing on administration and social media management. This was part of what inspired me to work at The Pros and Cons Program and go back to school at Seneca.
I’ve learned a lot over the last couple of months already, and I’m really excited to learn more. After graduation, I hope to continue learning and writing about prison reform and inmate rehabilitation, and continue doing communications and PR work for The Pros and Cons Program.

Outside of my blog writing, you can find me making art under my middle name, Florence, or planning small events around Toronto under my own business called Socially Awkward Events, with the mission of helping people make friends in the city. I would love for you to hit either of those links and check out some of my work! After I graduate, I hope to continue planning events for Socially Awkward Events, and continue with communications for The Pros and Cons Program.
