Let me introduce myself! I’m Alisa Stanley (pronounced like the end of Mona Lisa). In 2022, I finished from my undergrad in Film and Media Production from Humber Polytechnic. In 2026, I graduated from my grad certificate Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Seneca Polytechnic.
In June of 2025, I began working with an organization called The Pros and Cons Art Program, which inspired me to create this blog.
I worked as an event planner after graduating from my undergrad, focusing on administration and social media management. This was part of what inspired me to work at The Pros and Cons Program and go back to school at Seneca.
I’ve learned a lot over the last couple of months already, and I’m really excited to learn more. This blog began as an assignment for school, but I’ve found I’ve really enjoyed working on it, so I’m going to continue working on it!
Outside of my blog writing, you can find me making art under my middle name, Florence, or planning small events around Toronto under my own business called Socially Awkward Events, with the mission of helping people make friends in the city. After I graduate, I hope to continue planning events for Socially Awkward Events, and continue with communications for The Pros and Cons Program.
