A lot of people hear the words Planned Parenthood immediately think of STI/STD testing, free condoms and abortions. Planned Parenthood is actually so much more than that!

As someone who advocates for harm reduction, safer streets and community support, I thought this would be a great organization to talk about on my blog. They have so many outstanding services that very few people know about, on top of being one of the few clinics that offers pain killers (green whistle) for IUD insertions and cervical exams.

One service they offer is general health care.While they aren’t currently accepting new patients, you can give them a call or send them an email to figure out when and if that will change!

Another service they offer is gender affirming care. These services are so important- and so much more than just HRT, puberty blockers and surgery referrals (which are all services they offer). They also offer counselling and support groups for trans and non-binary folks.

They also offer a teen health source which offers a wide array of peer support and information for teenagers!

They offer so many resources on so many different topics. Their library page has dozens of facts sheets, research and articles that users can easily filter through and read for more information. I urge anyone reading this post to look through their library and find a post they’re interested in reading!

Community support is so important. I love that that’s who Planned Parenthood is run and backed by; our community.
